My Photo Gear

One thing I like doing on my day off is photography, and mostly taking photos of my daughter.  That is actually how I got started in this hobby.  It is an exciting but challenging hobby.

I like portraits/people because of the very obvious reason, this is where I started.  I have been taking pictures for about 6 years now and taking photos of people and mostly kids  is not an easy area to get started (at least in my opinion). Your subject for the most part, will not cooperate with you. You  have to be very quick in capturing their moods and expressions (these will only last for quick seconds).

One thing I learned that is effective in taking good photos of kids, is to have them do whatever they want to do. Just watch them and quickly press the shutter when you see a good “Nikon moment” .

So, to get all of this photography thing to happen, I must have the necessary equipments to take my photos.

E Q U I P M E N T

NIKON D70 - This is my old and first camera that my husband bought me as a gift. This is the equipment that really got me into photography. Although, I don’t use it as much as I used to, but my husband has been using this for his ebay business.  IT STIIL WORKS!

NIKON D200 -  This is the camera that I have been using for about 2 years now.  It can be frustrating to use if you don’t know what you are doing. It took me a long time to get used to this equipment, but it serves it’s purpose.  It is a semi professional camera.

LENSES:

NIKON 50MM lense - good for taking general photography. It’s very inexpensive and takes very good and sharp photos.

NIKON 18-135MM 3.5-5.6 G ED - This is what I use a lot in my D200.

NIKKOR 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF- ED - This is a standard zoom that comes with my Nikon D70.

SB 800 flash

A Bogen 3126 tripod
